The Maidenhead Bikeathon commences at 8.00 am – all riders must have departed by 10am and the event finishes at 3pm

Events

Bikeathon Short Route - 15.2 Miles (24 km)

The Short bikeathon route is just over 15 miles and is favoured by the majority of families as it is mostly flat and runs through the beautiful country roads of the Walthams and Shurlock Row.  There is a refreshment stop at the midpoint (7 Miles) with free water and light refreshments.

Bikeathon Medium Route - 35 miles (50 km)

The  Medium bikeathon route heads through the Walthams towards Twyford, Hurst, Binfield and Windsor, before heading back to the Maidenhead Office Park along Drift Road, and via Waltham St Lawrence. There is a feed station at approximately 14 miles.

 

Bikeathon Long Route - 62 miles (100 km)

The long route heads to Christmas Common via Henley on Thames and Stonor. It swings back via Sonning on Thames,  where it then joins the Medium Route at Twyford, then loops back to Maidenhead via Windsor. The feed station is approx. 30 miles into the route.

Venue, Parking & Facilities

The Bikeathon will start and finish at ​Maidenhead Office Park at Westacott Way, Littlewick Green, Maidenhead SL6 3QQ.

There is free parking at the office park.  Please follow the instructions of the safety marshals, park sensibly and remember to lock your vehicle.

Toilets, parking and light refreshments are available.

Registration

Once you have arrived at the office park, you will be directed to the Registration Tent where you will need to sign in and collect your rider number. Attach your rider number to the front of your bike with the cable ties provided.

Riders under the age of 18 must have the consent form signed by an adult. If you have not already signed one, you can do this at the Registration Tent.

Riders aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  It is strongly recommended that young cyclists riding on their own bicycle should have undertaken a cycling proficiency course.

 

Start & Finish

Once you’ve collected your rider number and fixed it to your bike, head to the Start.   You will be given a short safety briefing by one of our marshals and then you are free to set off between 8.00 am and 10 am.

The Medium and Long routes split from the short route at Waltham St Lawrence and will be clearly marked.   There will be marshals stationed along the Short route, distinctive in yellow tabards adorned with the Bikeathon and Rotary logos.

When you have finished the ride, please return to the Registration Tent to sign out, and collect your well-earned medal!
